Modern living in a heritage precinct

This unique, low-rise development combines heritage elements of St Kilda East with a modern and artful design surrounded by trees and foliage to create a lush, natural environment. With only a small number of apartments, the project provides a sense of freedom which high-rise and high-density apartments lack.

The development consists of two buildings. One building features contemporary two level townhouses and contemporary apartments within the walls of heritage-style Californian bungalow homes, retaining historical features such as original leadlight windows and remarkable high ceilings. The second building in the development includes thirteen distinctive contemporary apartments, all with differing floor plans.

A stunning design

Externally, the combination of several different finishes provides for a stunning design. A blend of elegant render, large areas of striking timber, distinctive glass work and impressive metal work all combine with a lush garden setting. Inside, each of the apartments features contemporary design with modern kitchens, caesarstone benchtops and SMEG appliances, modern bathrooms also with caesarstone and contemporary tapware. In every detail, these are exceptionally designed and delivered residences.

Project Highlights

With only a small number of apartments the project provides a sense of freedom that high rise and high density apartment blocks can not compete with.

‘Hotham Heritage’ seemed an obvious name to describe the conversion of two grand Californian bungalow homes in to a modern design internally, whilst maintaining the original structure and character externally, resulting in four stunning dwellings. Each of these four dwellings retained some of the unique features of the period, high ceilings and original leadlight in many of the windows.
